JB Wholesale November vitamin sale
From now until November 11th, JB Wholesale has all vitamins and supplements on sale for 15% off. The discount is automatic, no coupon code needed. Supplements like Cosequin can be quite pricey yet essential, so this is a chance to save a bit of money.
Disaster Preparedness Kit
United Animal Nations does a wonderful job of helping pets and their owners in times of crisis. They’re now stocking items in the UAN online store to help pet owners prepare for emergencies. Visit their store and you’ll find items like first aid kits, collapsible food bowls, temporary ID tags, or the best item of all, the Pet Emergency Starter Kit. This kit contains everything you need to start preparing your animals for disaster: a customizable Animal Disaster Planning Handbook, first aid kit, collapsible bowl, emergency slip leash, two temporary ID tags and a roomy tote bag. At just $47, it’s a great way to buy a little peace of mind.

Second Chances
Second Chances is a book about happy endings in dog adoption, and it’s been published by the great people at Petfinder.com. It’s for sale at The Animal Rescue Site’s online store, which also features some unique and well-priced gift items.
Drs. Foster and Smith early November 2006
Drs. Foster and Smith are having a special two week sale on pet supplies and fish food, with savings of up to 25%. No coupon code is required, and savings will be automatically displayed on the website. Their prices are already very competitive, so this is worth checking out.
Digital pet ID tags
A company called Pets-911.com has come up with an innovative yet simple device—a digital pet ID system which almost anyone can use, and which doesn’t require special scanners, or professional implantation. The device is simply a USB flash drive which contains your pet’s information, and is then worn around the neck in a special collar/pouch (called a “pet wallet"). The flash drive can store contact information, medical history, and photos, and you can register with an optional online database for even greater information access. The pet ID system can be used as a backup to a conventional microchip and ID tag, as we can probably never have “too much” lost pet protection. If you don’t consider yourself too “tech savvy”, the manufacturer offers programming assistance for a small fee. The company’s website still needs a little work and it can be a bit confusing, but I think this is a great product with wonderful potential.

Holiday cards from HSUS and ASPCA
It’s that time of year again—the time right after Halloween when we all have to start planning for the holiday season. I received some email notices from The Humane Society of the United States and the ASPCA about their holiday store offerings, so thought I’d post a couple of their more interesting items. From HSUS, I love their holiday cards, and am leaning towards purchasing a box of “Snow Dudes”. From the ASPCA’s online store, you can also buy holiday cards, as well as ornaments and even wine personalized with your pet’s photo on the label. Both organizations have great gift ideas for pet lovers, so try to visit if you need to buy for someone special.

Shelter Dogs
This incredible book is a collection of photos of dogs in animal shelters around the country. It would be a wonderful gift for any dog lover or person who’s rescued an animal from a shelter, and a portion of the proceeds goes to the ASPCA.
Save an additional $5 at Petco
From now until the end of October, Petco is giving shoppers the chance to save $5 off orders of $50 or more at PETCO.com! This offer is on top of their special discounts this month, so it’s a good time to stock up for the winter months on toys, treats, etc. (or even to plan ahead and buy some holiday gifts).
Cages By Design
Cages by Design create some of the most incredible bird and reptile enclosures I’ve ever seen. It’s my dream to one day be able to fill our bird room with these enclosures—I’d love them, and my parrots would love them too! For the month of October, CagesByDesign.com is offering a 40% discount on their products (cages, stands, and hoods) to all rescue and humane associations. This is truly an incredible opportunity, so if you qualify, I encourage you to take advantage of it. The coupon code you’ll need at checkout is EBVG-1006, and I’m sure you’ll have to provide some sort of documentation of your rescue activities.

SitStay.com October 2006
If you’re one of the first 125 people to order from SitStay.com this month and to mention the coupon code TRICK OR TREAT in the comment box when you checkout, they’ll send your pet a Halloween surprise! You need to spend at least $35 to qualify. If you’re looking for something to order, I recommend Sam’s Yams, which our dogs just love, or Simon and Huey’s White Cheddar treats (they’re small and great for training purposes). And of the items by the Zukes folks are great, too!
This just in: be one of the first people to order at least $75 worth of product (before shipping), and get a free SitStay.com t-shirt if you put the words “TEE ME” in the comment box at checkout.
